My 1969 Corvette Project

The Saga Continues

October 2002

I had to fabricate these stainless rear mounts and install them before the body drop. I opted to go with stainless fasteners instead of rivets, so my daughter helped tighten from the outside, while I wedged into the back corners of the passenger compartment.

Two of my nephews came to help. One of them brought an engine hoist to do the drop. I purchased a harness for the drop (yellow straps). The drop process was slow, checking for interference and alignment all the way down.

June 2003

Just getting the last of the systems hooked back up.

I am looking for a place to mount my MSD electronic ignition box. The engine compartment is full of engine. I am thinking about on the floor under the dash on the passenger side. Any suggestions/experience?

While trying to make sense of my ignition wiring, I discovered the T.I. Specialty web site. It contains some great information, and they have some great ignition solutions. I wish I had discovered them before I had invested in the MSD system. I am not happy about it, but I am probably going to have to mount the ignition box on the floor under the passenger side of the dashboard.

2004

My odometer was not working, so I sent it to D&M. They did a great job with a quick turnaround, so I could get the car to the body shop in time.

The car is fast, but it still has temperature problems. I'll have to work on that.

July 2004

The car is at the paint shop, and is due back any day. After I get it back, all that remains is the interior.
